Schedule of Events

This is a tentative schedule of events.  Please be reminded that this schedule is subject to change at any time.  A final schedule with times and locations of each session/event will be provided to all program participants upon check-in.

Check in: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Check in location: University Center (#12 on campus map)

Our Island Day program will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will end at 5:00 p.m.  Our program schedule will include the following presentations and/or events (in no particular order):

Morning sessions (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)

Becoming an Islander
What does it take to be an Islander?  Join representatives with the Office of Admissions and Records and the Office of Student Financial Assistance as they discuss applying for admission, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities.

Island Fair
From Greek organizations to honor societies, and from the dance team to the student newspaper, it’s all here!  Learn about the multitude of programs, clubs, and organizations available for students to become involved in at the Island University.

Touch of Class
Have you ever wondered what a class at the Island University is like?  Experience it first-hand during one of our ‘Touch of Class’ simulated classroom presentations.

Afternoon sessions (1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.)

Campus Tours
The Island Ambassadors will conduct guided walking tours of the campus.

Student Housing Tours
Representatives with Camden Miramar, our on-campus housing provider, will provide guided tours of the residence halls and apartment facilities, and answer any questions you may have about on-campus housing accommodations.

Student Panel
What is it like to be a student at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi?  Learn first-hand from the students who attend here!  The Island Ambassadors will conduct a panel session to address your questions about being a student at the Island University.

Success Beyond the Classroom
We realize that a student’s success is not just restricted to the classroom.  Join the Division of Student Affairs as they discuss the many services and programs in place to ensure the success of our students beyond the classroom at the Island University.
